Introduction to Melody Murray

Melody Murray is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Child Mental Health Specialist. She counsels individuals, adolescents and families helping them manage emotions and behaviors associated with trauma, stress, shame, depression, racism, infertility, low self-esteem and abuse in private practice. She also provides therapy in schools to students in crisis. Melody was a mental health evaluator in the Emergency Department at Seattle Children’s Hospital for several years . Melody utilizes personal experiences as well as intensive training in trauma and suicidal ideation to help a multitude of populations become healthy, positive and productive.

You have to take care of yourself, and you have to have healthy ways of taking care of yourself as you do this work because you're going to be triggered.

Melody is originally from Texas and moved to Washington in 2013 after spending 12 years working as a television producer and director in Los Angeles. She took a break from production to complete graduate coursework in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University - Los Angeles. Melody is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists as well as the Producers Guild of America. Melody is a frequent guest on television shows and podcasts as well as motivational speaker speaking on topics such as self-care, effects of childhood trauma, creating and maintaining boundaries and suicidal ideation. Melody just completed her first book, "Mourning the Living" which
teaches techniques to manage relationships or sever ties with toxic people.
